Keratin is the structural protein that hair and nails are actually built from, and hydrolysing it is what makes it dispersible rather than a coarse powder that sits in the shell.

One capsule with water
Take it with a glass of water at any point in the day. Food is optional. Biotin is water soluble, so there is no advantage to taking it with a fatty meal.
Do not double up
A single capsule already carries 5,000 mcg of biotin. Taking two does not make it work twice as well, and stacking it with another biotin product is worth checking before you do it.
Mention it before bloodwork
High-dose biotin is well known to interfere with some laboratory assays. If you have bloodwork scheduled, tell whoever is ordering it that you take a biotin supplement.
